I've been walking to work this week because of the amount of snow we got this past weekend. It's awfully slick out and I don't dare ride the bike in fear of sliding into traffic. It's really no big deal and I actually kind of enjoy it. Walking wakes me up in the morning and gives me time to think in the evening. Well, yesterday as I was walking home I was thinking of the courtesy of people now days. Would anyone ever stop to offer a ride? Should I start an internet pool where contestants bet on the day I will get offered a ride? Of course I would have to keep half of the winnings for compensation of the costs for hosting the event.
Although it seemed like a good idea at the time, it was short lived. I was surprised by a young man who had pulled over to offer me a ride this evening. He must have thought I was a student (I was wearing a backpack, headed in that direction) as he said he was going to the campus if I wanted to tag along. Come to think of it, maybe it was a pick-up line...
I did, however, have to decline his offer since I was just on my way home which was only two blocks away by that time. But, it does make me glad to be back in the great state of Montana. I don't know if anyone from Texas would have done such a thing.
