Well, I have officially attended what could be considered a ‘freak show’. While wandering the Montana Fair on Sunday, Beleisha and I came across a small trailer with a single window cut in the side; outer paintings promoted the World’s Shortest Woman was within. Costing only one dollar per view we decided it was worth it to see what kind of mirror trick they could come up with for something like this. I don’t know who was more humored by the whole situation, whether it was the twenty-nine inch tall woman after seeing the horrified look on my face or me by seeing, well, her…

Imagine being encaged inside a trailer no larger than a normal sized living-room all day long, not being able to leave until the fair closed for the night. Imagine doing nothing but sit on a couch all day long watching the same shows over and over again on a fourteen inch television. Imagine having hundreds of people pointing and staring at you during the course of the day, some of them humored, some horrified. I would really like to know why this person degrades herself like this. It can’t be for the money. It’s doubtful they bring in more than thirty dollars an hour. I also wonder if she truly is the World’s Shortest Woman.

Maybe they keep her locked up for a reason. Maybe she’s some sort of insane cannibalistic beast that when let loose would terrorize the entire fair. Or maybe World’s Shortest Womanitis is a contagious disease.
