Montana snow.

The mountains at home always look so much bigger after the first snow has dusted the peaks. The flawless white sets a perfect contrast between the blue earth and sky. The thought of winter will bring out People’s difference of opinion; how will you take the news when your girlfriend tells you she is pregnant? (Sorry Annie, no grandchildren yet. That was a metaphor.)
I spent this weekend in Billings visiting a good friend and cousins, indulging in sweet buffalo wings and enjoying a few games of beer pong. Sometimes I regret not taking advantage of my post high school years by going to a university. My experiences in Denver would never compare to what I feel I have missed out on in a town like Bozeman. I’m not saying that I live in Bozeman now because I must fulfill the need to become a typical 23 year old and I am definitely not saying that buffalo wings and beer pong is how I want to spend every day of my life. I’m simply saying that the camaraderie during times like those is something many people take for granted.
Beleisha and I celebrated our one year anniversary a couple weeks ago. I had a few minutes today to look through our wedding pictures and reflect on where this change in my life has brought me. My conclusion? Let’s just say I am scared to think where I would be right now if I would not have met her two years ago. I may not have a college education now and my job might barely make enough to pay the rent. My prized possession is the Rincon mountain bike that gets me to work every day, but, I am happy. I am happy in knowing that I have some of the best friends a guy could have and I am happy because I know that things will only keep getting better. Can one person really change your life that much? Definitely.
I’ll be glad if winter comes early this year.

I can honestly say that you didn't miss out on anything too special by not going to a university, yes there are a lot of social activities, but is it true camaraderie? No, most of these people that you drink with could care less about you during the rest of the day. One or two true friends is worth a thousand times more than a hundred acquaintances
