I was in a pickle after work today. So, I did what any normal person would do. I ate my way out.

I had to cook dinner with literally nothing in the cupboards. We haven’t gone grocery shopping in quite a while. But, I had succeeded in my attempted to create a decent meal from ingredients everyone usually has on hand. In fact, it was pretty darn good…

Death by Noodles

Ingredients:
12oz Spaghetti Noodles
1/2 cup Heavy Cream
1/2 cup Butter
2 1/2 tablespoons Garlic Salt
1 teaspoon Dried Basil
16oz Beef Steak (optional)

Directions:: If using Steak, cut into bite sized strips and cook the Steak thoroughly in a large skillet sprinkling with 1/2 tablespoon Garlic Salt two minutes before taking off of heat. Strain and disregard excess fat and grease from Steak and set cooked meat aside. Boil water in a large pot and cook Spaghetti until desired texture is reached (I prefer mine slightly firm). While Spaghetti is cooking, combine cream and butter in bowl and microwave until butter is fully melted. This takes about one minute. Stir the fatty combination with a fork until butter swirls disappear. Slowly add 2 tablespoons of Garlic Salt while stirring the mixture as it should nearly all dissolve into the Creamy Butter. Once the Spaghetti is cooked, strain out the water and fold in the Garlic-Butter Cream sauce along with 1 teaspoon of Basil. Place mixture into serving dish and top with cooked Steak (Steak will discolor Pasta/Sauce, so don’t stir!).

This dish is very filling (and calorific) and serves four!

No Title: If you would add Parmesan cheese to that cream/butter mixture, you would get Alfredo sauce. And of course, you use real butter don't you? Your mommy must have taught you well. :-) But then you always were the experimenter.
