I have owned my Camaro for three years now and have had all weather tires on it the entire time. Up until this week’s unexpected dropping it had been fairing well on ice considering the wide rear-wheel-drive tires. I park the car on the curb of a low traffic, never plowed street here in Bozeman. Well, it turns out that when several people continually park in one spot over the course of two days the snow will turn into a slick rock-like substance called ice. It’s a small five degree incline to reach the top of the driving surface on the road from the curb, and I learned the hard way that a car like mine will not make it. Luckily for me the street I live on is a high walking traffic area since it is right by MSU. I don’t think Bozeman would be Bozeman if four out of the five people that saw my tires spinning wouldn’t have stopped to help. The first person, probably a student, couldn’t get enough power to push me up the slope! That’s right. An average sized male in his early twenties couldn’t push a Camaro up a five degree slope! Needless to say he had to get to class, so I let him go. The second person was a drive by although he didn’t shoot at me. He was taking his kids to school and offered his assistance upon his return. Unfortunately I never got the chance to thank the man for his offering as I was free before his arrival. Twenty minutes of sliding agony had passed until two Good Samaritan strangers came along. One female and one male pushed with their entire mite to free me from the wicked trap. Thank you, wherever you are. Well, that’s my story. Hope you enjoyed it.
